Monamolin. Monamolin is a small rural village located just off the R741, road from Gorey to Wexford. Monamolin (Muire Mholing) when translated means the Scrub of Mholing. Mholing was once Bishop of Ferns and the old catholic church at Monamolin was founded by him. The present church was built in the 19th century. The church of Ireland was built in 1824. St.John's Primary school was built in 1968. In 1988 a plaque was unveiled in memory of Esmond Kynd from Monamolin who was a promiant figure during the 1798 rising in Wexford. Monamolin is also home to the Buffers Alley Hurling and Camogie Club.
