The
Centre commemorates the memory of Fr. John Murphy for posterity.
The restored house in which Fr. John dwelt with the Donohoe family
during his residency in Boolavogue is the centerpiece of this
magnificent development. In addition to Fr.John's house the centre
contains a number of authentic out - houses which illustrate the
way of life on an irish farm during the 18th and 19th Century.
Many old farm implements are on display.
The
Garden of Remembrance is a place of tranquility where one can
sit or take a short walk while remembering all those who have
gone before us. Inscribed Stones are dedicated to the memory of
the many who died in the Rebellion. The Garden is surrounded by
trees and Herringbone Stone ditches. Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann
have a Regional Archive in the centre. Housed also is an extensive
exhibition of the Folklore of County Wexford, Aon Sceal Eile Agus
Cuimneachain. A real treasure collected by the young people of
Wexford under tuition of Jacqueline Sydney.
