A Great Family Day Out in Wexford

With the lovely sunshine that made a welcome comeback last weekend, it was an ideal time to go to the famous wexford slobs. Home to a huge variety of birds and many migrating geese the Wexford Slobs are a great place to bring children and visitors alike. They have a few hides with telescopes through which you can get an upclose view of all the birds on site and some birds of prey that also can be found here.

The building itself houses an interesting exhibition of birds and evolution including many leaflets and videos on migration habits and ways to bring birdwatching into your life!

I have brought children aged 9 and adults aged 47 and all ages have really enjoyed the day. Should the weather prove sunny (or not!) between now and April ( many birds will leave by April) I suggest taking a trip down and having an unusual and memorable day out- totally free!

Open mon- sun 9am – 5pm throughout the year
